The progression just makes no sense. and the beginner young kids I teach (all 6 years old) just cant grasp the concepts they throw at you on the first pages. The very first page has them playing C. D. and E. on the staff. I think its bizarre. I much prefer the Alfred or Bastien books where you learn fingerings. rhythm. and black keys. white keys. THEN the staff. I really wish I hadnt wasted the money on this book. Easy to FollowBy WDWFanMy 12 year old daughter is just starting to self-teach herself how to play the piano. She has the background knowledge of how to read music. At first. she said this book was way too easy because the first part of this it just teaches you how to read music. However. my daughter enjoys playing the cute and easy to follow songs in this book.
