Similar to other books by the same publisher this book is 18 pages long and contains short facts about the topic; in this case turtle; along with several large and colorful photographs that help tell the story of the sea turtle. As a turtle lover I was looking forward to reading this book.Sea Turtles - Fun Facts About Turtles of the World does; in fact; follow the speedy publishing formula. However; I feel as if the editing of this book is particularly good and the pictures are more captivating than usual; which is saying a lot because I associate speedy publishing with lovely photographs. In previous reviews Ive been fairly harsh on the fonts used for these books; but the font on this book is sort of whimsical without being excessive and I actually really enjoyed it; especially since it just seemed to fit with the sea turtle theme.I thought this book had some particularly good vocabulary and I learned some words I have never heard before. Did you know that a turtles upper shell is called a carapace while the lower shell is called a plastron? Me neither! As a teacher of elementary students; I would love to incorporate this ebook into a small group activity where I present a main idea or topic to the whole class and then they break up in small groups and discover more material on their own. My mind was continuously racing as I read through this book thinking of different projects I could make on this topic. It is the perfect age group to let them use a kindle to explore and what a better way to do so than with this ebook! I will totally let other teachers know of this opportunity and will keep this seller in mind with other ebooks available. I love sea turtles and was excited to explore this book ...By KristiI love sea turtles and was excited to explore this book with my three year old. The wording is precise and not overwhelming. Sometimes the language seemed a little advanced for such a book; but my daughter seemed to get the idea of the story. I liked that there were pages without facts so that we could really talk about the picture and create more to the story. After reading the story; we went back through and I had her tell me about what we read. She did a great job recalling what we talked about. She enjoyed expanding the story with all the baby sea turtles and of course asked Daddy to get her one. We have 2 pet turtles so she thought we could have a sea turtle as well.The pictures are incredible and can easily be used for the kiddos to make up their own stories. They show much detail so you can talk about and see what a real sea turtle looks like. We compared the turtles body to her body and what the turtle ate compared to what she eats.I received this book for free in exchange for my honest; unbiased opinion. However; this book was free to the public as well. I look forward to reading more of these books with my children.
