This is truly ldquo; â¤ï¸ AMORE â¤ï¸ rdquo; at its BEST!By MitchAs a child the music of Dean Martin played quite frequently in my home. I just loved his voice with the smooth easy-going sound. I also remember on Thursday nights sitting with the family and watching the Dean Martin show. There were also the western movies plus the Matt Helm flicks that I remember sharing with my parents. Oh but the best shows of all were the celebrity roasts that Dean Martin hosted. I remember rolling on the floor laughing and I probably didnt get have the jokes but because everyone in the roast were laughing hysterically. as well as. my parents you couldnt help to but laugh. This book reminded me of all those times and how much I loved Dean Martin even as a 7 year old kid. But the best part of the book was how it was written - with LOVE {AMORE}. I never did care for the way the media portrayed Dean Martin in the magazines and newspapers. This book surely makes it clear to me that Dean Martin was a good family man and friend.5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. GINAS BOOK IS BETTERBy Doctor JayIve read the books by both Ricci and his sister. and I must say. "Memories Are Made Of This" is much better. Maybe its because of the co-writers involved in the two projects. I really am not sure. but "Memories" is just better. Both children paint a similar picture of their Father. who was a good. decent man who made enough money through his singing (EXCELLENT singer. by the way) and acting ability to pretty much live as a phantom while enjoying an impeccably appealing public persona. Whether "care-free" or "just didnt care" is up for discussion. but he is portrayed by both children as a private man who. as was the case by most in that generation. left his work at work and was pretty much another person in private than he was in public. I personally would love for someone to compile some anecdotes about what it was like to work with him on the television and movie sets and in the recording studio. Oh. well. maybe that will never happen. Also. one other minor quibble: There was a LOT about Ricci in this book. compared to what he revealed about his Father. To that extent. the book seemed somewhat self-serving. but that is definitely just my opinion. which is also true of this entire review!
