Most of this is loooong excerpts from newspapers or other sources. Now; it is cool to have excerpts.....but not as the majority of your book! The excerpts tend to overlap timewise; so the chronology gets disjointed and the narrative flow......huh ok; theres really no narrative flow. The story itself is very neat and deserves a better; clearer retelling I think.4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Great Account of a Key Event in American HistoryBy CustomerWhat a great read about a pivotal moment in US conservation history! This book describes nothing less than the impetus for the creation of the US National Parks System! The author details the visit of Teddy Roosevelt to the US West soon after he becomes the President and the impact of the time he spend alone in the wilderness with John Muir. This is a great and overlooked episode in American history. It is written is a very accessible style.Recommended for students of US history; the Presidency; and history of the conservation movement in America.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
