The Art of Emily the Strange

[ePub] The Art of Emily the Strange by Rob Reger in Arts-Photography

Description

James Abbott McNeill Whistler was The American painter; etcher; and lithographer who created a new set of principles for the fine arts; favored "art for arts sake"; and introduced a delicate style of painting in which atmosphere and mood were the main focus. Establishing himself as a painter in Paris and London; Whistler developed his distinctive style; utilizing muted colors and simple forms. His masterpiece is largely credited as "Whistlers Mother" ("Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1"). His work later provided the inspiration for Oscar Wildes novel The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890). In later years Whistler devoted himself increasingly to etching; drypoint; lithography; and interior decoration.

Well written; covers ALL aspects of the dance that youd never guess unless you were deep in the thick of it. A great read!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. review for Tango NuevoBy Juan A. PortilloIt covers some good history about tango. However; it is very technical as it is written as a thesis and not for a leisure read for pure pleasure. I recommend this for anyone who likes facts about tango.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. wonderful bookBy bookloververy readable; informative and entertaining. lovely photos to enhance the text. great for dancers and non dancers alike. an achievement in music and dance lit.
