The Art of Matt Wagner's Grendel

[PDF] The Art of Matt Wagner's Grendel by Matt Wagner at Arts-Photography

Description

A magical; compelling play from the author of The Weir. Present day Dublin. Christmas Eve. Undertaker John Plunkett is sharing memories of funerals over the years and dispensing advice to his young assistant. But the arrival of his daughter Mary - estranged; grown-up - shows him the time has come to face up to his own disastrous past. Otherwise; he will never be able to create some kind of truce with his fear of the future. a theatrical spellbinder - Daily Telegraph McPhersons short play is excellent: tough on love and the causes of love; profoundly sympathetic and damning about the denizens of the drunk tank. - Time Out

The images may appear excellent in the Kindle edition; but the quality and size of the the plates in the print edition are very poor. This book was printed to order and does not work well in this format. I would never have purchased any art book like this deliberately. Art books require more attention than was given to this printed version which shouldnt even be sold as it will inevitably disappoint someone who is looking for quality images of the artists work. This is the same review I wrote for John Constable:126 Master Drawings in the print edition.
