William Merritt Chase was an American painter; notorious as an supporter of Impressionism and also fonder of the Chase School. He worked in all media though was most fluent in oil painting and pastel. Chase as well created watercolor paintings and etchings but is perhaps best known for his portraits; including some of the most important people of his time and members of his own family. In addition to painting portraits; he began painting landscapes in an impressionist manner. Chase typically featured people in his landscapes and depicted them in leisurely poses; relaxing on a bench; on the beach; or lying in the summer grass. His most famed still lifes was dead fish; which he liked to paint against shady surroundings. In addition to his painting; Chase actively developed an attention in teaching and won many honors at home and overseas: he was a member of the National Academy of Design; New York and president of the Society of American Artists.

Russell PeltzI have listened to Patsy Cline for years but knew little; if anything; about her other than her tragic end. This book showed me everything I need to know about one of the two greatest female vocalists of the 20th century (Billie Holiday being the other). I recommend this book for any Cline or country-music fan. You could feel the love fans and friends had for her; especially at the end when my eyes welled up after the plane crash. I had no idea she was such a vibrant; tough; wild; independent woman. Why do talented people like this often make poor choices in marriage?1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Story of Patsy Clines Life and DeathBy VivienneThis is a good rendition of her life and how she really was; not as she was depicted in her movie about her life. It seems to tell it like it is when it comes to events in her life with men;she was crude sometimes. It didnt tell much about her children who I imagine were brought up by her mother; although it doesnt say so. I would have liked to hear more about them. It did have nice pictures of her in it that probably you wont see anywhere else. I think that Charlie Dick is still alive and I saw him recently on TV talking about her. He was also crude but I guess they made quite a couple.
