What a great historian and folklorist! His writing is clear and concise and obviously well-researched. He presents the story and lets the reader decide if they believe. He writes about urban legends; and ghost stories being a part of community memory; but I like the stories in this book because they are scary; especially the first one; "The Ghosts and Curses of the Old Quaker Church".
