My family had a barge on this canal in the day. then sold horses and mules at the Rondout terminus. I got this book as a companion to going to the DH Canal Museum in High Falls. New York (I believe worth the trip if one is in the area). I recommend the book to anyone interested in canal and ingenious railroad history especially if you have liked other books in this series as it is very similar. I think they are really great. quick paced. can pick up when free time and just read a little but still get some facts.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
