Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. mixed reviewsBy L KeeneI realize this book got very mixed reviews but I bought it and was very satisfied with it. I dont expect to just copy what someone else has done and I disagree with the people who complained about the materials used and the difficulty in finding them. I am not big on having things that need to be dusted either so what I got from this book was inspiration on combining old things in new ways. I will draw some of the projects and scale up a couple others to fit my fairie houses. It was worth the money to me and I really enjoyed it.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Be sure to use the "look inside" optionBy Judith HoffmanIn my opinion the books you would make from the instructions are artists books. not journals. Several people complained in the reviews that they cant keep a journal in these books or store them on a bookshelf with other books. I wonder why they didnt look inside the book before ordering it? Its true the title is misleading. I would guess it was the publishers decision. The books are relatively small. like little treasures. The projects are fun to read about - but I would not search out a part of a meat grinder. as one person suggested you would have to do. in order to make the book. You could use your creative imagination and substitute some interesting object you already have around. I find this book inspiring. not to literally make each book. but to see how someone uses the odd items they have collected to make fun little books. The bindings are very simple to make. the books could have collages or drawings inside. to make them into wonderful little artists books. My only complaint: the layout of the pages is a little cluttered for me. I find the decorative stuff around the photos distracting. Because of that. I would be inclined to give it 4.5 stars. but that doesnt seem fair because the content is great.Disclaimer: I did *not* get this book on BookSneeze ;-) and there are photos of two of my books included in a gallery section. One uses found objects to tell the story of my childhood. so you can see I do like this style of book making. The artists dont make money from the sale of the book. you can rest assured that Im not just saying I like the book to make a buck.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
