Through letters; memoirs; contemporary documents; and a stunning assemblage of photographs - many of which have never before been published - author Ron McCrea tells the fascinating story of the building of Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesin; which would be the architects principal residence for the rest of his life. Photos taken by Wrights associates show rare views of Taliesin under construction and illustrate Wrights own recollections of the first summer there and the craftsmen who worked on the site.

Peachees photographic technique and skills produce images which are a delight to the eye; and which give insight into Kentuckys distilled spirits industry of a century ago. I accompanied my children; then aged eight and five years old; on a tour of the operating Old Taylor Distillery exactly fifty years ago this past summer. The three of us visited again recently; expecting to see deserted ruins; to find to our joy that the beautiful old edifice is being re-vitalized! It is heart-warming to study Peachees images of Old Taylor; and to realize that this venerable showplace is being lovingly rejuvenated and re-opened as Castle and Key Distillery. I cant wait! Old Taylor is but one of numerous pioneering bourbon operations which Peachee presents in this book; a wonderful text on Kentuckys signature industry.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great photosBy David MeierThis is a great book and features my distillery which is the "Old Crow" distillery. There are a few inaccuracies in the text but overall great photos and interesting material. If you would like to come back to shoot more let me know.
