Examples of world-renowned masters of architecture are used in this enlightening book that explores the "why" of architectural drawing; rather than the "how." By emphasizing the value of drawing over technique; the authors demonstrate how the drawing itself influences the designers processes of thought; and exerts its own pull on the evolution of the concept.

Very informative and interesting.By Sonja HillI am from National City and bought this book because long ago I fell in love with its beautiful Victorian homes. This book also had information and photos including the citys history; the founders; their dreams for the city and their related struggles; all of which was very interesting. Author Marilyn Carnes; an amazing woman; has been involved with the Historical Society and it shows.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy CustomerExtremely pleased!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Really InformativeBy Linda CrispienThe only problem is I was hoping there would be more recent history of National City as well; from the 1960s on. I was born in National City in the 1960s and was hoping there would be some things about the times I grew up there.
