Ill have to tell my uncle Bob his picture is in here for basketball. He will be proud. He brags on that team a lot and has that same picture. My mother was also the Valedictorian of the last graduating class of Van Lear High in 68.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Loved it!By TomI was born and raised in Van Lear. I found this book to be very insightful and entertaining. Once I began reading; I could not put it down. Very nice layout; and absolutely love all pics! Really makes me miss the place where I pent my earlier years. Highly recommend to anyone from that area; or anyone simply wanting to learn more about it.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Van Lear Images of AmericaBy CustomerJust finished the book "Van Lear" by Johnson Countys own Danny Blevins. Helped me much better understand the coal communities that my parents grew up in over in Perry/Knott County and the children that attended Porter Elementary with me when that school first opened in Johnson County. The book is a quick read with lots of great photos with insightful descriptions.
