The History and Stories make it a Great Read!By Michael HoardI loved the history aspect of this book as much as the ghost stories; which I must admit caused a goose bump or two to form while reading it in my bunk on a construction barge offshore. Ill never drive by the Hilton on Pinhook Rd.again without hearing a civil war battle and I had to laugh out loud when; at one point; I read the story containing; "Mary; Mary; Mary;" although I recall saying; "Mary Jane; Mary Jane; Mary Jane." In fact; if I recall correctly; when devil worshiping was big news in the 80s; 20/20 did a segment which included this bridge. I loved the book and thank you!!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Life isnt all about what is seen but includes what is unseen.By Allyson SchramI enjoyed this book about southwest Louisiana. I knew there was good food and music and for those who have experienced it dont seem to want to leave. The bodies die and return to the earth; but some souls seem to refuse to move on. According to "Haunted Lafayette Louisiana" many areas around Lafayette indicate this is true. I am interested on the chapter "Arnaudville" and visiting one of the mediums to see if any of my loved ones show up! I want to go visit the cemetery at sundown and see if I can see anything there.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Enjoyable read.By GinA good book with many interesting legends.
