Its not exhaustive; but a good beginning guide. Its also a bit too segmented by the use of alphabetical listings by short discussions of each topic. So; for example; a topic such as accidentals is scattered in different places: with single notes; in chords; use of courtesy accidentals; etc. I would prefer to see it all in one place; i.e. an entire chapter on accidentals. Doing it like that would require some overlapping of material from different chapters; but I cant hurt music students to be able to find the same information in any of several different places.But; on the whole; a good beginning book and an excellent value for the price.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
