We use this book for my intro to urban studies class in community college though I think it should be a supplemental reading for grad school. There is a lot of good info yet extremely dense. In my opinion it is unnecessarily dense which comes across a bit pretentious. Even my professor agreed. My friend whos currently in a phd program advices me to read between the lines because some words are just there unnecessarily. Its not fun to read and very discouraging at time. With that said; if you are patient; there is a lot of good info and history.
