The Leadbelly Songbook

[PDF] The Leadbelly Songbook by Oak Publications at Arts-Photography

Description

Bob Boring; great-grandson of the Civil War veteran who lent his name to the community; says; Boring is a name; not a condition. The recent pairing of Dull; Scotland; and Boring; Oregon; has created worldwide multimedia reports; including articles in Time magazine and the Wall Street Journal that published the same week. Never incorporated as an official entity; Boring has been a thriving farm; logging; and sawmill community since Joseph and Sarah Boring traveled the Oregon Trail in an ox-drawn covered wagon and settled here in 1853. The downtown area of Boring is only four blocks long; but the farming area serviced by the Boring Post Office is 13 miles long and contains a population of 8;000.

The manufacture of this book is cheap and even the writing is fuzzy with little pixels floating around the letters in the words. The photographs used for illustration are truly horrid and difficult to see. There are shadows from the previous page bleeding through to the one you might be currently using distorting illustrations due to cheap paper used in production. The illustrations are almost as bad. For this subject matter it would have been helpful to have useful illustrations. I really do not understand all the 5 star reviews; but perhaps the give away is that several reviewers refer to the author by her first name. For over $20 I really expected more....for anyone who has already purchased this book and is struggling with the practice sessions at the end; try using the finished drawing for your reference "photo" since the reference photos are almost completely indecipherable.32 of 34 people found the following review helpful. One of the best but........By MJZCarrie Stuart Parks writes the best books on drawing that Ive ever run across. She breaks it down and makes it easy to understand and I would recommend her books to anyone regardless of skill level. Everyone can learn from her books; all you have to do is be willing to invest the time; and she makes it fun. The only reason this book got 4 stars is due to the fact the step by step projects in the back were a bit of a dissapointment; not because of subject matter; but because the reference photos you are to use are so small; unless you enlarge them on a copier or computer they are very difficult to draw from. However; that being said; DO NOT let this stop you from buying this book; it is well worth the price and there is a lot of good info in it. I would also suggest her portrait book as well of all the books I have in my library of drawing; this is the one I go back to everytime.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A staple for those who want to learn to draw!By ScottAwesome book with wonderful tips on using perspective in drawing. I highly recommend this book to everyone I know that is interested in drawing. I already had many years of drawing under my belt and this book has given me some great insight that I will use to refine my skills.
