Chris Flook gives the reader a great place to jump into a critical part of history ...By CustomerNative American history can be intimidating to study with thousands of years of events and peoples to sift through. By focusing on a small; specific region (east-central Indiana in this case); Chris Flook gives the reader a great place to jump into a critical part of history that often goes ignored. Flooks book is easy to read without ever oversimplifying and I highly recommend it for anybody looking to learn more about how the Midwest changed and evolved before European settlers took over. Now; if youll excuse me; I have a bunch of parks in Indiana I now need to go visit.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Very interestingBy Timothy T. BrownI highly enjoyed this book. I never fully appreciated the specifics of how different groups of native people moved around the eastern US and passed through here. The only reason I gave 4 stars likely has more to do with my personal interests than the qualoty of the book. I was looking for more information on daily life because Im strongly interested in survival skills. I would like more discussion of seasonal staple foods; weapons; shelters; etc; but perhaps Ill find it through the bibliography.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
