A Must have for Nature Lovers and Photographers in New YorkBy jean vWe love to hike all around New York and have explored so many hidden parks; nature trails; and bike trails. But we really love finding waterfalls in the midst of our hikes. A friend had this book and we realized it was exactly what we needed to actually be able to plan our trips to end up at one of these amazing waterfalls. It is arranged by county which is easy to track and it also has detailed information about how to get to each waterfall. We have been to so many of these already; since NY has tons of waterfalls like Watkins Glen; Letchworth; and of course the great Niagara. But these are hundreds of others that we never knew existed before we purchased this book. Another benefit is that the writer gives tips about photography for these sites to help you capture your special visit. He also gives some cautions about the dangers involved in getting close to some of these falls at various times of year. I really love this book and I know you will enjoy it; too.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Very good info and photosBy Jack McGoryThis book is meant for the waterfall and photography enthusiast. The author does a good job of presenting the lesser known waterfalls all over NY as well as the better known ones though; of course; not every one is mentioned. The directions and descriptions are generally quite good but there is at least 1 glen that Im familiar with in which the information is not accurate. The photos are great and the photography tips are good from what I can tell. Im more of a "point and shoot" kind of guy but do enjoy taking photos. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in visiting and photographing the beautiful and numerous waterfalls of New York state.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I wish the book did not have a location error. Otherwise Im enjoying the book.By Patricia J. TahanI have been working through this book page by page. Directions are spot on. There is a misprint on page 101 as to the location oh Groff Creek. Hike number 41. The directions are just fine. But the falls are in Hamilton County NOT Madison County. Other than that error I am enjoying the book. I have not noticed any other errors. But can only give 4/5 stars due to the error.
