The best book on music theory from a players perspectiveBy SF NativeThis is definitely the best book ive read on theory from a players perspective ever. Doesnt matter if youre a guitarist. bassist. singer. drummer. woods. brass. etc. Vic really takes a Zen approach to laying it all out. Love the takeaways from each chapter. Ive applied everything here to my 30 years of playing. and gotten better thanks to the advice from The Music Lesson. A couple gems: "Dont loose the groove to find the note". and "The right note is only a half step away". So cool.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Victor Wooten is an awesome bass playerBy CadenzaI am still trying to finish reading this. Victor Wooten is an awesome bass player. but not as good as a writer. However. although I find the style awkward. many of the ideas he is trying to put forth are very thought-provoking.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Transmits -- not just teaches -- really wonderful stuff about musicBy CustomerTransmits -- not just teaches -- really wonderful stuff about music. New Age-y writing style might be hard for some to take. but totally worth it. Im a better musician after each chapter -- weird. awesome.
