Review
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The Longest-Overdue Book in the World of TheaterBy R. BurkhardtIts about time this book existed. I hope it will be followed up very soon by another book of Greenspans many other excellent. groundbreaking plays (Principia. Dog in a Dancing School. Son of an Engineer. Go Back to Where You Are. Jonas....) I also hope this book will result in many. many performances of these plays by everyone interested in theater. If you are such a person. and you dont know David Greenspans work yet. your world is about to become a paradise. Buy this book and read it aloud with friends. Every one of these plays is experimental and rigorous and hilarious and adorable and breathtaking and unforgettable and riotously fun. And although the world they portray can be scary and topsy-turvy and fractured and unsettled (and even ugly. brutish. and apocalyptic). the portrayal. and the enacting of the portrayal. is always wildly. improbably. variously. ingeniously joyous.I cant wait to read it all on heavy rotation.
