Outsider artist Mendelson Joe is a painter; activist; musician; and renowned ldquo;self-taughter.rdquo; But to the people living in the sparsely populated region west of Algonquin Park; he is also a neighbour. With his latest book; Joe commemorates his neighbours in a series of portraits whose subjects range from Canadian musical icon Hawksley Workman to the man who installed Joersquo;s woodstove. In Joersquo;s Neighbours; we get a glimpse into the lives of people who have strayed from the urban grid; and in Joe; we meet a ldquo;pathological painterrdquo; who is engaged with his community. Viewed through Joersquo;s idiosyncratic lens; rural Canadian life comes alive; and we meet a hub of artists; activists; and offbeat characters who truly embody Joersquo;s vision of neighbourliness.

It includes coverage of the D500 and D5 (which I now own). The autofocus systems on the new Nikon cameras are very complex and complicated. The 2nd edition covers the changes in the new systems and what you need to do to get the best images under all conditions. The Multi-cam20/153 point system utilized in these new systems is explained in detail. This is a highly technical detailed book that you will go to time and againThis is a truly excellent book for any Nikon user that wants to improve their focus. There are many books on the market about improving your exposure or post processing. but there is very little good information on modern autofocus systems. Understanding what mode of focus to use in different situations is outlined by utilizing text. diagrams and photos. After reading this book. I highly recommend this as a reference guide to keep handy (as some of the technology is very difficult to understand). This book really helps to explain things in laymanrsquo;s terms what Nikon has never fully explained in their manuals. While this book is available in a Kindle version. I would recommend the paperback so that you can carry it in your bag.Every serious photographer should have the goal of getting sharper images! Sometimes this is not easy! This book will help you understand focus in great detail. This book is very well organized and it is easy to look up the answer to a specific problem. My only regret is that I didnrsquo;t have this book 11 years ago when I first started using Nikon Autofocus! Highly recommend!3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Just getting back into photography after a 25 year abscence ...By AmznCustJust getting back into photography after a 25 year abscence. Back then I used a manual focus camera. I had no idea autofocus required so much work. Ive been learning a ton about selecting the right AF mode and getting the right configuration for various types of photography Ive been doing and my out-of-focus rate has been dropping dramatically. especially on the sports photos Ive been doing for my daughters teams.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Nikon cameraBy Sidney S.This book does not cover the latest AF systems but. is a excellent start on learning AFs. The author covers the most important parts about understanding the limits of AF systems. How AFs see the cameras image. How you as the photographer can get the best out of the different cameras AF modes. Excellent book.
