The Sanford Meisner Approach: Workbook Two; Emotional Freedom: 2 (Career Development Series)

[audiobook] The Sanford Meisner Approach: Workbook Two; Emotional Freedom: 2 (Career Development Series) by Larry Silverberg at Arts-Photography

Description

The translation of Felicja Kruszewskas A Dream introduces a major play by a twentieth-century female playwright to the English-speaking world. On March 7; 1927 A Dream - a large-scale expressionistic drama by an unknown poet - burst on the Polish theatrical scene in a dazzling debut production by the young actor Edmund Wiercinski; who would become one of the outstanding directors of his time. The plays hallucinatory visions of the rise of fascism and the heroines longing for a providential savior on a white horse spoke directly to Polish audiences about their deepest anxieties. During the next two years A Dream received three additional stagings and became the subject of lively debate and controversy. The play; which has been successfully revived in 1974; is an outstanding example of European expressionism. The volume also contains An Excursion to the Museum; by the contemporary Polish poet; playwright; and short-story writer Tadeusz Rozewicz. A disturbing account of an utterly mundane visit to Auschwitz; the tale is a brilliant example of the playwrights technique of poetic collage.

This is one of the best books I have ever read for several reasonsBy Looking For DollarsThis is one of the best books I have ever read for several reasons. 1) It is lucidly; beautifully and passionately written. 2) The four women are each vibrant; fascinating; and provocative. 3) The historical implications of their intersecting lives and interests are reflective of a dynamic period in early 20th century US history. 4) Important sociological; psychological and philosophical issues are raised in new and intriguing ways for our contemplation. Any one interested in womens rights; agency; early 20th century US history; biography-fiction-film; and a just a great read; should get this book. Wonderfully Written Book Celebrating the Strength of WomenBy AllisonThis is a wonderfully written book with an historical perspective. The lives of these formidable women are intertwined and Mr. Ginsberg lays out their connections beautifully while explaining why their lives were extraordinary; within the times in which they lived. It is especially poignant to compare their causes with those of the present. A great read if you are interested in learning more about the early 20th century and these four strong immigrant women living in a time where being a strong woman was not the norm. Their lives are not simply described; but celebrated.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Everybody should go out and buy a copy of this bookBy CustomerVery well written and interesting
