Benjamin "Ben" Jonson was born in June; 1572. A contemporary of William Shakespeare; he is best known for his satirical plays; Volpone; The Alchemist; and Bartholomew Fair; and his equally accomplished lyric poems. A man of vast reading and a seemingly insatiable appetite for controversy; including time in jail and a penchant for switching faiths; Jonson had an unparalleled breadth of influence on Jacobean and Caroline playwrights and poets. In 1616 Jonson was appointed by King James I to receive a yearly pension of pound;60 to become what is recognised as the first official Poet Laureate. He died on the 6th of August; 1637 at Westminster and is buried in the north aisle of the nave at Westminster Abbey. A master of both playwriting and poetry his reputation continues to endure and reach a new audience with each succeeding generation.

Disappointed / Not As Inspiring As Expected / Wanted More Womens FashionBy ButterUpButtercupI returned this book because it wasnt as inspiring as I expected. I thought it would be like looking at the blog. but featuring the most interesting people. I lost interest after flipping through it a couple times and was really wanting a book I could return to again and again for inspiration (like Design Sponge. but for fashion; I could flip through that book 100 times). For me. I think there were too many men shown and I was really only interested in womens fashion.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Stylish !By CustomerIf you are wondering what is the definition of style. this book may help you.It is full of pictures of people who are all stylish from all walks of life and budgets. I particularly like the people who obviously got their clothes from their mother or fathers closets or thrift shops but managed to look like a million bucks. I just wish I have the flair of these people. Buy this book. It will be an excellent reference source for that elusive thing called style.
