As soon as I got my hands on it ive been reading little by little every night and i find her advice not only refreshing but also realistic. The energy she has on camera translated beautifully onto the pages of her book. I dont buy "guru" books often. if ever-but Im certainly glad i did. You wont regret it!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. I was also very happy tp see a lot of natural remedies for hair and skin and some great recipes (turkey burgers!). Its inspired me to have a big clear out; make over and get some make up lessons. I do feel the book needs more images rather than simply a text description of how to put make up on for those visual learners amongst her readers.4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. This 300 page book felt like it had only about half of that in actual information. I came to this book not being familiar with any of Louises shows or overall style. I believe her general style advice just doesnt line up with what I find attractive. I should have known when I saw her Ballayaged hair on the cover... anyone who touts purposely making your hair look sun-damanged is a little off the mark to me. The fashion advice was hit and miss; and might appeal more to someone who is in their 20s; as opposed to a thirty-something like me. I think there was an actual photo of gold high-tops on one of the style pages...I did really enjoy her section on smoothies and juicing; and found a few new recipies here that I will try to vary my green-drink routine. Overall I liked the emphasis this book puts on natural cleaning product alternatives; healthy eating; etc. The parts on home decorating were also nice; just very sparse. I just finished reading this book; and looking back I just dont feel like I am taking much of anything away from it... no styling tips; no makeup application tips; nothing really stuck with me.Overall; I did enjoy reading it; but I feel it stacks up poorly against the competition. If you are looking for a comprehensive beauty book that covers many of the same topics; but does a much more thorough job; I recommend Your Beauty Mark; by Dita Von Teese; expecially if you arent totally sold on Louise Roes aesthetic. I would recommend borrowing this one; Front Roe; from the library... Ill be re-selling mine.
