Not exactly what I thought; but still great.By SoranI would never recommend this for beginers at drawing males because its not a "How To Draw" book; but it does show how using layers and creating your own backgrounds for a character makes them stand out more. It also has great characters in it; ranging from trendy guys; rock stars; Visual Kei; wrestlers; martial artists; nerdy guys; etc. So if your looking for a colorful; stylish book to inspire your own male characters; then its great; but dont buy it if you dont already know how to draw males. I think "How To Draw Manga Males" is the best; and apparently the only good resource available. There are other decent books that briefly focus on guys: Manga Mania Romance; HTDM Couples; Lets Draw Manga Ninja Samurai; Lets Draw Manga Tokyo Urban Hip Hop Culture; and HTDM Computones Couples (Great for free tones too). Good luck being an artist!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Love it!!By SAMANTHAI got this book today and theres a few things I wanna say about it1. It came a day early so that made me really happy2. After flipping through it I defiantly find it challenging as far as drawing your male characters in action poses. It was something Ive been trying to learn how to do and now I can just open up this book and get a reference in an instant. However this isnt a how to draw book and its really not for beginners. If your a beginner and looking for a how to draw book; this book isnt for you. I would say its more for "advanced or skilled" artists that know or have a pretty good idea on how to draw manga. Me personally Im not a beginner but Im no expert either so this book is a challedge for me. Anyways its full of all sorts of manga guys; one that I didnt expect to see so its great for inspiration. Overall I give it 5 stars!!9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Boys; Boys; So Many Boys!By iRead_iWrite_iConquerIt took me quite awhile to start getting through the Monster Manga Book of Boys. There are so many different styles of them and; ultimately; they can be quite difficult to draw if you arent already experienced. I wouldnt recommend this book for beginners. Start off with the beginners book and then work your way up. Trust me; the extra effort is worth it if you want a great drawing sitting on your sketchbook or computer screen! For the price; you get a massive book and loads of information and inspiration. There are so many genres and line-by-line detailing that it makes drawing them out so much easier. It also gave me quite a bit of insight on the anime-male anatomy that can only be given through display.Did I mention that there were many; many boys? Because there are. And theyre fabulous! This book is amazing.
