I started reading it and literally couldnt put it down. The prose is very accessible and the story rattles along. The inclusion of material from other sources provides a twist in the tale. The book is an extraordinary and unique account from a figure you never hear from but who witnesses everything - the Stage Manager. Contributions from Anthony Hopkins and Jim Dale show how incredibly generous these two great performers are. And its a wonderful record of the genesis of modern lighting design. Whether you are a student of acting; theatre; technical theatre; love the National Theatre; or just have an interest in Drama in general you will LOVE this book! I really cant praise it enough. Although were just days away from the 2017 - this is the book of the year for me.
