Although my agency has our own development process. I am always open to new ideas and approaches for the delivery of our projects.That being said. Ive been a fan of Chris Butlers content and blog writing for quite sometime and was generally enthused to see him author a book on a subject he has written countless articles about. Knowing that his agency incorporates live prototyping and are heavily content focused I was eager to get a hold of his new piece.The Strategic Web Designer. gives a great overview of a proven development process. with enough detail for seasoned professionals to walk away with new insight and certainly a great asset to those new to website development or those who work in other agency roles and need a better understanding of how online projects should be approached. While I have read more detailed books on site development. Chris book takes a conversational tone. that hes known for. and breaks the process down into manageable phases. I decided to give it a go and give my two cents. For those starting out in the industry as a freelance or even someone who is a little bit stuck or lacking in their own roadmap will find this book handy to address a few key points. Although. I would say some of these things are more "consider this" points. but a lot of it is practical.I gave this book four stars because I am spoiled by other books I have purchased and think the paper contents used in printing this could have been better. I also like my illustrations in color. but the information inside is good. Thanks HOW Magazine.
