The Studio Reader: On the Space of Artists

[ebooks] The Studio Reader: On the Space of Artists by From University of Chicago Press in Arts-Photography

Description

• Translated by Diane Arnson Svarlien.• Introduction and Notes by Robin Mitchell-Boyask."This is the Medea we have been waiting for. It offers clarity without banality; eloquence without pretension; meter without doggerel; accuracy without clumsiness. No English Medea can ever be Euripides; but this is as close as anyone has come so far; and a good deal closer than I thought anyone would ever come. Arnson-Svarlien has shown herself exceedingly skillful in making Euripides sound Euripidean." mdash;David M. Schaps; Bryn Mawr Classical Review

I love the selection of artists in the list and the wonderful description of what studio means for these people. We often curious on how artists translate their solitary working space in relation to their practice. and how the work are often shaped by these spaces. Each artist bring his/her philosophy which ultimately show a glimpse on the visual arrangements of the space as well as their attitude and work ethic. I highly recommend this bool for student artist. emerging artist. art teachers and enthusiasts.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
