First; the photos of the beading processes shown are just terrific; which should help the beginner tremendously (eg: how to crimp; how to string; etc).Second; this book shows photos of all the basic accessories a beader will need in their beading process.Third; this book goes through all the various materials used in beading (eg: beads made of bone; various glass beads; polymer beads; clay beads; metal beads and findings; etc) and there are great photos to go with the materials.Fourth; as previous reviewers have stated; I like the way this author describes the history of the various beading materials (eg: old rock and shells; and beading supplies used throughout history). Once again the photos are just great.Fifth; the author interviews various beading artists; and many of the artists share their take on their beading process.25 of 26 people found the following review helpful. Another Super Bead book by Susan RayBy Michelle Alberigi McKenzieWell; Susan has done it again. I love the look and feel of this square; spiral bound book. A floppy book can send beads flying off your table as you grab at your book; how nice it is that you can actually open to the project you want to work on; and the book stays open (gotta love that spiral)! The projects are inspiring; as are the photos. There is a chapter on creating different types of beads; from polymar to lampworked. How do you determine the length of your bracelet? How do you add the ending clasp? Need to know some basic crochet steps? Do you want to add found objects into your jewelry? Theres plenty here to keep you busy. Beaded Jewelry also contains a resource guide and contact information on the contributors. What more could a glass and bead lover ask for?I sent a copy to my sister and to a friend in Germany and they both love it!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
