The album consists of four compact discs; each of its eight songs consists of four stereo tracks; one from each CD.In this book; Mark Richardson; who is also Managing Editor for Pitchfork; explains thoroughly the history of The Flaming Lips and the journey that led up to recording Zaireeka. He gives an insightful explanation for each song; but more than that; he ties in his own experiences with The Flaming Lips.Overall a really good read and I highly recommend it.0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. To the point; and great for Lips fansBy Rich L.The author gives a to-the-point history of the Lips prior to this album; and directs readers in the right place for more info. He sums up the listening experience in a factual way. His track-by-track reviews will vary in opinion from reader to reader; but its not too off-track. An enjoyable read; and a must for Lips fans.3 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A Wonderful Expose on The Flaming Lips and the album ZaireekaBy Kirk LittleMark Richardson is an excellent writer who give the reader a short and sweet background on the band then dives into the making of the album and the aftermath of its release. Lips frontman Wayne Coyne provides interesting tidbits as well making this an exceptional entry into the 33 1/3 series.
