If new new to jazz and blues; her work will make you a lover . Her blues are moody and mysterious; rag time transports you to its period. Her jazz pieces are complex; changing cords that rarely repeat; fun runs; carefully placed grace notes. Each so unique.Rich full masterpieces honestly. I can not sing the praises enough for her jazz series books. I wish she wrote advanced however.Im using her early work to teach my daughter.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great series for piano learnersBy momof3This review is for Jazz; Rags; and Blues series in general; rather than this particular book in the series. My son has used many of the books in the series of Jazz; Rags; and Blues books in his piano lessons and practice time. The songs are short and interesting; a fun change from the more traditional songs in the usual piano lesson books. In particular; many of these songs are great recital songs because they show off jazz; rags; or blues abilities in fun; short songs. The kids can demonstrate their abilities but not get bogged down in longer; trickier pieces. The series does increase in difficulty as the book numbers increase. My son particularly enjoys the Christmas Jazz; Rags; and Blues book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy Jamie RobinsonThese are fun songs to play and listen too.
