Nice CollectionBy tesgI actually learned a few things about Burger Chef I didnt know about in this book (they were frying burgers at most locations in the end?); even though this book is much more of a picture collection than a story.A number of these images have been available at Burger Chef tribute sites over the years; but theres lots of things from the founders collections as well that I havent seen before.A fine collection of images and words.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Another valuable addition to your library. Your friends will admire the handsomely bound book.By Wesley HortonThis book should have been in Color. . .If you wondered what happened to Burger Chef; the answer is here. . The sad decline of this once great burger chain and its ascent to the top as well as the greed of the founders to sell out. The decline to "Burger Jims" is also covered as is the fatal 1968 e. coli breakout that kill 6 and sickened 3.More importantly; the book highlights Burger chefs emphasis on environmental responsibility and its pioneering use of biodegradable paper cups. and the congressional backlash it caused. Their innovative use of Neon is also discussed. There is also a special section on their advanced use of polydodecahedron polycarbonate to make light fixtures as well as their licensing of the technology to TSR for multi sided dice; which permitted modern multi player games to exist. The story of the science of the modern hamburger as we now know it; and the personalities that were involved is truly amazing.Once the best burger place on your street; its not. . . Gone
