The eighth volume in the Coward Collection includes IllLeave It To You and The Young Idea; the first of Cowards plays ever tobe produced. These were; as he said; "enthusiastically acclaimed by thecritics and ran five weeks and eight weeks respectively. In both ofthem I appeared with the utmost determination." This Was a Man; aslightly later play; was written in 1926; after the successes whichmade his name. It was originally banned by the Lord Chamberlain "forfacetious adultery".

The pictures in this one are uninspiring; but the book is coherent!By BrandonIn dealing with ldquo; The First Americansrdquo; this one goes way back. ldquo;13;000 years ago and perhaps much earlier.rdquo; While this series is ldquo;US Historyrdquo; and others in this series may be a little ambiguous about what is US history and what is American history; this book doesnrsquo;t suffer from that uncertainty past the title. So; wersquo;re not talking about ldquo;Indiansrdquo; or even Native Americans in the sense that most people use that term today; but as the book puts it; ldquo;Paleo-Indiansrdquo; or; I think; more accurately ldquo;Paleoamericansrdquo;.I do have to point out that most of this book is speculation. Most statements have or should have ldquo;perhapsrdquo; or ldquo;possiblyrdquo; in them and most could use the qualifier ldquo;may haverdquo;. Almost none of the statements have supporting findings or even solid background; but this is a book intended for young readers and as most books are from this publisher; intended to inspire further study. It introduces a lot of broad ideas and expects the reader to find out more on their own.The pictures in this one are uninspiring; though I concede this one could be difficult to illustrate. They are all computer models of people and landscapes. Four of them are the same model and only in one of those four is his posture different. In that one however; he meets up with a female; and from an adult perspective; itrsquo;s rather comical; though Irsquo;m not sure I would want young boys spending too much time on that pagehellip;Overall; this book will provide a basis for discussion on how Native Americans came to live in the Americas.Disclaimer: I received this ebook in exchange for my honest review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I did like this bookBy AmandaI received First Grade US History: The First Americans: First Grade Books. (Childrenrsquo;s American History Books) to add to my collection and to give an honest review. Here goes; I did like this book; but wish that it was longer. I feel that it provides such a small amount of information in the book. My son did enjoy us reading it together; but I did expect more. I was able to use this book to start the conversation and then used another book to go into more depth. This book did have some nice illustrations; but I would have liked to see a sentence or two to go along with illustration. That was a bit of a disappointment. As far as the continent of the book; it talks about the First Americans. It describes how Paleo-Indians were actually the first people. Some of the illustrations how things these people might have done. How they might have hunted with spears giant mammothrsquo;s. The book describes how they would collect their food by hunting and gathering up seeds. The book had some good information but it ended so quickly. I would recommend this book as a starter book; but you would definitely need a follow up book as it is very simple. I was given this book at a discounted rate; for my honest review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This is an excellent ebook for first gradersBy rkreviewerThis is an excellent ebook for first graders! As a teacher of elementary students; I would love to incorporate this ebook into a small group activity where I present a main idea or topic to the whole class and then they break up in small groups and discover more material on their own. My mind was continuously racing as I read through this book thinking of different projects I could make on this topic. It is the perfect age group to let them use a kindle to explore and what a better way to do so than with this ebook! I will totally let other teachers know of this opportunity and will keep this seller in mind with other ebooks available. I received this product free for reviewing purposes; however my opinions are all my own.
