Top Hits of 2016 Songbook

[ebooks] Top Hits of 2016 Songbook by Hal Leonard Corp. in Arts-Photography

Description

Between the two World Wars; there was an unprecedented need for new houses in Britain which resulted in a building boom. While only a small percentage of this building took the form of Modernism; there was still a significant number of semis and terraces built for the workers and middle-class families in the 1920s and 1930s built in this style. This book examines these modest Modernist houses within the broader context of the Modern Movement in Europe; as well as the inter-war building boom in suburban Britain. Illustrated with line drawings and photographs of more than 30 examples from around the country; and based on little-known contemporary material such as catalogues; advertisements; radio broadcasts and letters; it shows how these houses speak of a time of political; social and artistic unrest; and a world where the avant-garde architects sought to capture the spirit of modern technology in their designs for the average home owner. While the Modernist houses never became popular with the general public; the fact that so many are still standing and now sought after by twenty-first century families speak for their endurance and special appeal.

Great arrangements for early piano studentsBy RahGood book for early piano students who may just be learning higher (treble) and lower (bass) staff notes (or not solid in their reading of them). I teach piano and have many students who are not able to do an intermediate or even Elementary level yet...or those who dont progress because they dont like the songs in their lesson books. This encourages them to learn new notes because they know the songs and want to perform them for friends and family. I just wish I could find a similar book that is somewhere between this easy book and the more difficult books.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. 2 out of 16 songs are worth itBy Melodie Laine FoxI teach piano and voice. I do not know pop. I love Pinks Just Like Fire. so I bought the book. hoping the other 15 songs would be worth buying the whole book. Lets be clear. I had no idea what any of the other songs sounded like. I doubt I had ever even heard any of them before. I sightread through the book. singing and playing. Only one other song was worth learning so I can use it to teach. The rest was just uninspired repetitve crap. If the lyrics were good. there was no melody. If the melody was good enough. the song form was juvenile and unplanned. If you want to copy the rap words instead of rap yourself. this may be a good book for you. but Im not going to put the effort into songs that arent for singers. Rather than buying the book. I recommend you buy separate sheet music formats of only two of the songs: Just Like Fire and One Call Away.
