[DOC] Transforming Parks and Protected Areas: Policy and Governance in a Changing World by From Routledge in Arts-Photography

Description

First published in 1943; this autobiography is also a superb portrait of Americas Depression years; by the folk singer; activist; and man who saw it all.Woody Guthrie was born in Oklahoma and traveled this whole country overmdash;not by jet or motorcycle; but by boxcar; thumb; and foot. During the journey of discovery that was his life; he composed and sang words and music that have become a national heritage. His songs; however; are but part of his legacy. Behind him Woody Guthrie left a remarkable autobiography that vividly brings to life both his vibrant personality and a vision of America we cannot afford to let die. ldquo;Even readers who never heard Woody or his songs will understand the current esteem in which hersquo;s held after reading just a few pageshellip; Always shockingly immediate and real; as if Woody were telling it out loudhellip; A book to make novelists and sociologists jealous.rdquo;mdash; The NationFrom the Trade Paperback edition.

WYOMING COUNTY (WV) IMAGES OF AMERICABy BWI bought it to read about the history of the county of which I was born and raised until I left to join the Army in 1965.I liked reading about a lot of the thing I grew up around and the pictures reminded me of what was going on while I lived in West Virginia. After reading WYOMING COUNTY by Ed Robinson I decided to buy my two older sisters and older brother along with my son a copy of the book for a Christmas gift. There were 13 children raised by S. P. and Clair York. He was a coal miner and raised cattle on the mountain. Sent many of his children to college. etc.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great information!By Elisabeth M.Book provides great historical pictures and factual details on the county.
