A cute book with good examplesBy HeatherI like the artwork in this book; its simple enough to not be too distracting for the little ones; and has the cute owls with big eyes that my little guy likes. The owls are colorful; and props are included within the books to show an example of what each word means. The contrasts included in this book include front/back; big / small; fat / thin; more / less; buy / sell; cold / hot; weak / strong; dry / wet; slow / fast; hard / soft; rich / poor; low / high; right / wrong; close / open; short / tall; clean / dirty; empty / full; light / heavy; same / different; wisdom / ignorance; short / long; white / black; bright / dark; front / behind; first / last; on / in; over / under; far / near; and up / down.Overall it was well thought out; and can be a difficult task to portray words and comparisons like these for such a young age. I would say a child probably between 2-4 would really do well with this book. My 16 month old is a little young to understand these concepts yet; but look forward to sharing this with him when he is a bit older.I received this e-book for free; in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Cute and simple ebook that is offered for free right....By ElizabethVery cute; simple ebook about opposites. Grab it for free while you can for your young child who is learning opposites. You can click on "Look inside" on the main product page on and see the first few pages of the ebook. This is pretty much what you get.Speedy Publishing publishes lots of kids ebooks that are either offered for free or .99cent;. Some are hit or miss and some right in between at just ok but you can cant really go wrong with the ones offered for free. Below is a review of the Speedy Publishing ebooks in general.----------------------------There are about 200 ebooks published by Speedy Publishing that are offered in the kindle store for either free or for .99cent;. You cant really go wrong with the books offered for free. There is a variety of subjects covered from travel to animals to history. You can take a peek inside the books by clicking "Look Inside" and this is pretty much what you get in each book.Anyway; overall; I do like theses books for their wonderful pictures (although this Opposite book is just drawings.) It would be nice if the books went into more detail but they are very basic books that I hope will get my kids interested in finding more about each subject.I plan on keeping these books on my iPad for down time for my kids when they get bored waiting different places like the doctors office or practice for a sibling. I sometimes watch a friends 3 year old daughter and she likes to look through the pictures on my phone. I plan on showing her these books to keep her entertained. I think she will love them.--------------***** I received this ebook for free in exchange for my honest review. *****0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Really cute for early learners.By Sunni F.We love these short Kindle books as it makes it easy to read and homeschool on the go. This Then That is a great book for younger kids; my 2 year old enjoys it though my 5 year old got bored fairly quickly (though I am sure he learned at least a little from it). It covers all the basic opposites such as front and back; more and less; slow and fast; bright and dark; and up and down.I adore owls so I might have enjoyed it more than the kids but the pictures are colorful and consistent and give a lot of room for adding additional learning while discussing what is shown and a few big words. The way it reads (two words per page) also make it easy to use to teach some basic words even though not all are on the sight words lists.I received this item for free in exchange for my honest review; all opinions are my own.
