I almost hate to be the 89th review to spoil its perfection.Taking Marlenes journey with Perri turned out to be an unexpected reward in many ways; from causing me to become aware of how pianos work to the importance of tuning.But much deeper than that; the book took me on a journey of discovery into life; the universe; and everything. Turns out the answer is considerably more complicated than 42.I loved this book so much; and my life is greatly enriched from it. I am a composer; pianist; and Im spiritually inclined. The technical details regarding the different pianos; piano tuning and construction are very rich. The author has also done an admirable job describing her subjective feelings about the instrument; although I suspect these passages will resonate with different readers to differing degrees. I have been a pianist for 50 years and it is a charming book.
