Great bookBy MarcThis book was written by my professors at UNC Charlotte and it covers a lot of what we did in out first year architecture program it is a great book for the price and will help you understand the concept of how to make really good diagrams! I highly recommend it!8 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Wasnt what I was expectingBy gmbyphotographerI was expecting a book full of diagrams similar to those on the cover... instead; its more of a breakdown of famous types of diagrams and examples; with too much writing in between in my opinion. It definitely wasnt as helpful as others books I found on visual information and diagraming...Its definitely an "architecture" book; not a "design" book.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Rigorous exploration of the geometric discipline of architectural compositionBy CustomerThis is a carefully and beautifully designed book. One suspects its design employs the same principles of geometric composition it explains as a discipline for architectural design. The result is a convincing manifesto for rigor; brimming over with explanatory diagrams; exemplary precedents and stimulating exercises. I recommend it as a reminder to students of architecture (whatever age and level of experience) of one of the fundamental intellectual foundations of architecture. From experience; I suspect the qualities of this book are best experienced in its print form. Due to the technology; kindle-izing tends to undermine layout and the relationship between text and drawings.
