[audiobook] Vectorworks for Entertainment Design: Using Vectorworks to Design and Document Scenery; Lighting; and Sound by Kevin Lee Allen in Arts-Photography

Description

Set in the mysterious landscape of the bogs of rural Ireland; Carrs lyrical and timeless play tells the story of Hester Swane; an Irish traveller with a deep and unearthly connection to her land. Tormented by the memory of a mother who deserted her; Hester is once again betrayed; this time by the father of her child; the man she loves. On the brink of despair; she embarks on a terrible journey of vengeance as the secrets of her tangled history are revealed.A piece of poetic realism steeped in the past... Carr has an extraordinary ability to move between the mythic and the real. GuardianA great play... a great work of poetry... the word should soon carry across both sides of the Atlantic. IndependentBy the Bog of Cats premiered at the Abbey Theatre; Dublin; in 1998. It was revived at Wyndhams Theatre; London; in November 2004.

I have to answer; "I dont know; but I hope so." When I saw this book was available as a Kindle publication; I knew I had to know more than I did about Sousa; and I found the book interesting and useful. I would have given it five stars; except that there were some long sections that I skimmed over or skipped altogether. Sousa was certainly an American Phenomenon. I had no idea! I knew that Sousa had written a lot of music that was not marches; but the list of his titles and genres was truly amazing.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good read. It was an arcane time in AmericanaBy James O. Clark IIGood read. It was an arcane time in Americana...when we thought we were Gods pure lambs on Earth...we had not known the bizaar world of Vietnam and terrorism and political cowards and right wing decay yet.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. John Phillip Sousa: American PhenomenonBy Coralie A. PriddyThis is an excellent portrayal of a critically important American patriot. John Phillip Sousa brought the US Marine Band up to the standards it enjoys today; and made concert band music the equal of orchestra selections. He is probably more responsible than anyone else for the rich tradition of concert bands in our schools; colleges; and communities. The fact that he had the finest and best known instrumental group IN the WORLD about a hundred years ago is an awesome claim to fame. I wish more people knew about this fine musician------an American gem!
