Description

This collection of photography and essays from 1960s Vietnam offers a picture of normal; daily life during the Vietnam War era. Some of the photographs were entered in international expositions where they were recognized not only for fine composition and balance; but also for their ability to capture glimpses of Vietnam that few Westerners have had the chance to see; or understand. What do such pictures convey? Perhaps some of the sacrifice; endurance and patience of its people; or the love of a man for his country. Indeed; the native Vietnamese photographer has an important role: his pictures will serve as a source of inspiration for his countrymen. And these are the pictures of Vietnam to be remembered.

My sense as I read it; this fast-paced thriller of a story (that is fictionalized but nevertheless real) is that it should immediately be a movie. It IS a movie. It reads as one. Its also has depth; pace and texture....and thats besides the story itself.A Godsend: A Love Story for Grown-ups2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Robber Barons of the Big BoardBy Kathryn SorrentinoI never would have understood Occupy Wall Street if I hadnt read Chandra Folsoms dramatic screenplay Robber Barons of The Big Board. The story takes place from 1990-2008 and in a little over one hundred pages demonstrates how the insidious nature of greed destroys personal relationships; businesses; and countries. The banter between main characters kept me turning the pages: "Well if your Dad gets his way; Forbes will become president and then the top two percent will cower in their mansions while the rest of us break down their doors for a scrap of bread. Remember Les Mis?" Robber Barons of The Big Board is sophisticated; funny; and a fast read that successfully strings together Wall Street trading and 911 with love and hope for a better future. This would make an excellent movie.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Definitely made for Hollywood!By Alfred G.With the financial world crashing all around us and with corruption in the air; this script could not have been written at a more propitious time. I hope that it will be snatched and placed on the silver screen while the iron is still sizzling and presidential debate still raging. It artfully takes us into the labirynthian world of Wall Street corruption and greed; a world only known to insiders. It is a fascinating interpretation of Keith Schooleys book depicting his personal quixotian battle against the financial establishment. The script is entertaining and thought provoking; I recommend it wholeheartedly.
