Great BookBy HalleycometGreat book--wish we had it when we were touring around the cems but we will be back---hubs has tattoo of one of the skull and bones from the Point Burial Ground so this was interesting to us to see who and when these were carved etc. Great series! Gives us an "excuse" to make a tour of NE cems to see other stones form the same carver.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Interesting and fascinating information......By Bernadette K. RichI visited the Portsmouth; NH area in July of 2008 and will be making a return trip for a week in July of 2009. I have always had a slight interest in cemeteries and old headstones and just "happened" to come across a huge cemetery in Portsmouth last year which I believe to be part of the South Street Cemeteries. After spending a little bit of time there walking around and taking pictures; I knew that that was going to be one of the places I revisit again this year. Some of the stories associated with those buried in these places are just amazing...... I look forward to exploring more of that particular burial place and will be taking lots and lots of pics to bring back home with me. The book is a good tool to refer to and it provides some basic information on some of the residents located in the Portsmouth cemeteries.
