A New York Times Notable BookA Miami Herald Best Book of the YearIn this deeply personal book; the celebrated Haitian-American writer Edwidge Danticat reflects on art and exile. Inspired by Albert Camus and adapted from her own lectures for Princeton Universityrsquo;s Toni Morrison Lecture Series; here Danticat tells stories of artists who create despite (or because of) the horrors that drove them from their homelands. I have shared my home with many a cat in the past and find them to be very "unique" characters! I just happen to absolutely adore dogs!!! I got this book in the other day and found it to be a wonderfully insightful. and comedic. read! And no. the author is not "slamming" cats; indeed. he obviously has a healthy respect for felines. However. its quite evident hes a "dog person". Plus. the photographs throughout the book are fantastic as well as heartwarming! This book goes great with a cup of coffee on a rainy day...with your "fur kid" (of whatever persuasion) asleep at your side!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Just a great book. Cat lovers with a sense of humor tend to love it as well. people who are easily offended by nonsense are the only ones who get annoyed by this book. Wonderfully visually designed as well - all the graphic designers I know are very impressed by the colors. photography. and layout.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. made to be funny. but many of the treatises it proposes struck ...By Customermade to be funny. but many of the treatises it proposes struck me as true. acknowledging Im a dog person though.
