I originally borrowed it from my local library; but the patterns were so cute I had to order one for myself. In the beginning of the book; there is a great Techniques and Glossary section for those of us who need a little refresher ;-)The Materials section of each pattern is comprehensive: explaining yarn types; Needles needed; notions; and gauge. Child patterns start as small as 3 months and some go as large as 10 years. This is great because I can use the book for many years as my daughter grows. Each pattern in the book is not only adorable but practical. There is even a matching child/doll set for one pattern. Just a note: the patterns are all set up to be for girls; however; Im sure some of you crafty knitters out there can adapt some of them for boys. One thing I wanted to specifically praise; was the fact that not only are the sizes listed; but each size lists the measurements (i.e.; chest; bust; circumference etc.) so that you can chose the best fit. Enjoy!!1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Love this bookBy Angela McclellandI discovered this book online; and purchased it right away. I love the designs; some are simple; some have some elegance like the Mothers Lace Cardigan (my favorite.) The sweater patterns are knit in one piece from the top down. I love the Surfer Tee sweater it has a deep v-neck and a large front pocket for both hands to snuggle into; and my third favorite is the Mother and Babys Aran Coat; soooo cute! All the baby sweaters are cute as a bug and there is a shawl pattern and scarf pattern as well. Directions are well written and easy to follow.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Its all here!!By NanawarbucksLove the fact that garment sizes range from a baby newborn to an adult 3x. That means I can have patterns to knit for my granddaughter for many years while I from time to time knit up a lovely creation for myself. This book offers great variety in attractive patterns.
