I SIMPSONThis is an excellent and refreshing look at modern art; very readable and informative; one of the best books on art that Ive ever read. Unlike other art books; which say that the value of a work of art cannot be judged objectively; Mr. Galenson hits on an interesting way to do just that: by noting the number of works that consistently appear in art textbooks; he can show that some works illustrate concepts in art better than others.
