What I am able to play sounds right...hahaBy Christopher ParkerFull disclosure: Ive been playing guitar for 25 years and just recently started dabbling in piano/synth in the past 5 years or so. Dream Theater was one of my biggest influences as a guitarist though I never reached Petruccis level of greatness. My wife was kind enough to pick this up for me for Christmas and Ive been playing around with it whenever I get a chance since. Make no mistake: this is not a beginners book. Some parts are a little beyond my ability. Some parts are way beyond my ability. And some of them Ive actually been able to play and recognize; so I must be doing something right. A piece of advice I would give you: before you play a song; go through it with a highlighter and highlight every time there is a sound change. Then you can figure out how best to set up your keyboard for playing that particular song either by splitting it into different zones or creating a couple of separate patches to change throughout the song. Good luck!3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Great book!!!By Bruce WayneThis book is for advanced users. If you want to be challenged; this book is for you. Some songs are completely transcribed whereas others are excerpts with the relevant time stamps noted in the title of the piece. Being a fan of Dream Theater for many years and listening to Jordans input in their many songs; it was really hard for me to keep up with his leads. This book solves that problem as the notes are there in front of you with the proper fingering to boot. This book will make you a better keyboard player.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. GreatBy AdrianaThis is a great product; exactly what the description states.
