What I noticed and appreciated within the first few pages was the honesty. Mixerman doesnt claim to have all the answers. He simply shares from his experience. And his experience speaks quite loudly. Secondly. I say this book is philosophical because it doesnt tell you what EQ settings to use. for example. but instead it focuses on what matters. namely the song itself. and helps equip the reader to make the track the best it can be. making the song sing (as he puts it). Finally. this book is comprehensive in that it deals with most (I am guessing) of what happens in the life of a mixer. from dealing with clients. to mix gear. to mixing techniques. I heartily recommend.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I love this author.By J. LudwigI love this author.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Opened Up My EarsBy JaxonDiI am enjoying this book very much. Written with a dry sense of humor. Mixerman effectively covers the myriad of issues encountered when creating a mix. I have no wishes to become a professional audio mixer or producer but this book has had a positive impact on the processes I use for recording and mixing my own music on my home DAW. I find that questions that occur to me while reading seem to be anticipated and answered in the next paragraph. I have discovered that Mixerman is a rather controversial persona on the net. but I have no doubt of Mixermans experience or the authority of his opinions. I dont know how someone interested in the topic of audio production could not benefit from reading this book (and rereading it).
